Kids, kids, kids. I have 2 of them and my wife often complains about always being tired, stressed and burned-out. She said that she needs a nanny to help her because she doesn't a time to rest. She always need to check them. But of course, she loves our kids and will do her best for them. Iloveyou! Mommy :)

Kobe Bryant passes Michael Jordan

Yes, you read it right. Kobe "The Black Mamba" Bryant passes Michael "His Airness" Jordan in the all-time scoring list. Kobe is now 3rd in the list with 32,298. The video below shows how he achieved it.

Great achievement! I am a Kobe and MJ fan. We can't compare the two. They have similarities but MJ is MJ and Kobe is Kobe. How I wished I witness it live. This will in the history books.

Aside from Kobe, a couple of NBA stars also passes someone in the list this year. He is one of five active players in the top-20 among all-time NBA scorers. Dirk Nowitzki (ninth), Kevin Garnett(14th), Paul Pierce (16th) and Tim Duncan (19th) are also climbing the ranks in their mid-to-late 30s. Jacky Chan's American and Chinese Movies

We all know Jackie Chan. He is a Hong Kong actor, action choreographer, comedian, director, producer, martial artist, screenwriter, entrepreneur, singer, and stunt performer. He known for his action-comedy movies. I am sure, most of us watched at least one Jackie Chan movie in their life time.

Watching the video made me realize how Jackie Chan puts more effort into his craft. He is very passionate about his work. And because of that, I respect him more and became a bigger fan. I am exposed to Jackie's movies since I was young, not only Jackie's film, but also other Chinese movies. In fact, I watched movies of  Jet Li, Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Stephen Chow and a lot more before they even got popular world wide. 

Comparing Jackie's American movies to his Chinese movies, I can say that his Chinese movies are better. Just compare Police Story and Rush Hour movies, you can tell the difference in the intensity of the fight scenes. What do you think? Ciao!

iOS 8.1.2

iOS 8.1.2 is already out. I got my notification yesterday. Based on the description on the update, it fixes the issue that caused ringtones purchased thru iTunes to be removed from the device.

This has been an issue to the Apple users who purchased their ringtones but on the update. The update is not that big. It's about 30MB depending on your device. There are also few unnamed bug fixes but Apple didn't specify what are those but this update will improve stability and performance.

I got my iPad mini updated first. I will observe first before I update my iPhone 5. Ciao!

Royal Protocol

The Royal Protocol. Is it a movie? of course not. It is the protocol to be followed in front of a Royalty.

Apparently, it is not known to all that the Royalties are not be touched unless told otherwise. This mistake was on the news most of the time and today, Basketball Superstar Lebron "King James" James breached the protocol when he put his arms around the Duchess' shoulder as seen below.

Some say, Americans are very touchy and should have not done that; but for me, I think he didn't mean to touch the Duchess. He just forgot that she was a royalty.

Sometime ago, Vladimir Putin was bashed for not helping the Queen during the 70th anniversary of D-day in Normandy. In the picture below, he is the only one following the protocol. Some say, he was isolated because of the attack of Russia to Ukraine but we can never know.



So remember, always follow the Royal Protocol when there is a Royalty in front of you (that's if will have a chance to meet them). Ciao!

How to Link your Yahoo Mail to Outlook

So, i was tired of using the browser to log in to yahoo mail to check and organize my emails. I have more than 1 yahoo mail account and logging out/in is very tedious. So I was thinking, how to connect my Microsoft Outlook to Yahoo Mail. I had a very hard time looking for a way to do it but then, i was able to do it anyways. So below are the steps I did.

Step 1
- Open your yahoo mail. Go to Settings - Accounts - Accounts and click edit. Under the Access your Yahoo Mail elsewhere option, be sure click POP and the Download spam with no special indicators.

Step 2
- Open Microsoft Outlook. Create an account if you don't have one.

If you see this menu, put in the following:

Your Name: Name of the account
Email Address: Yahoo email address

Account Type: Always POP3
Incoming mail server: pop3.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

User Name: Yahoo email address
Password: Yahoo email password
* Remember password checked

Step 3
- Once all is filled up, click More Settings. Under Outgoing Server, click My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication - Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Step 4
- Go to Advanced tab, Incoming server (POP3) should use port 995 and check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).

- Outgoing server (SMTP) port should be 465 and change Use the following type of encrypted connection to SSL

Step 5
- Run Outlook, press Send/Receive and you are done.

All of your emails will now be synced from Yahoo Mail to Outlook. You can now then create rules that will suit your needs. Good thing about this is you will have a copy of all your emails on your computer. Archive it to have a backup.

Note: If you add two Yahoo Mail account, Outlook will combine them in Inbox. So it is better to have a rule to separate the email from one account to another.

Christmas Parties

This is the meme I can think of when December hits the calendar while the food, freebies and raffles are the main highlight for me. Some Christmas party have themes like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Bollywood and etc. And of course, every Christmas party is not complete without the presentations, sing and dance.

Actually, our company just completed it and our theme is Super Heroes. They are generous enough to give everyone, who came, a customized X-mini Kai2. You can view the full specs here. I will give my personal review soon.

Doctor Strange

Marvel just announced the actor who will portray Doctor Strange and it is no other than Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch. Follow this  link for the full news.



The film, directed by Scott Derrickson, will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange. Stephen Strange discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions after a horrific car accident.

Gangnam Style Milestone

Who knew??

Apparently, since 2012 up to now. Psy's Gangnam Style still the number 1 most viewed video in YouTube.

Great right? Wait for it. Youtube released an announcement saying that the maximum views set is reached, resulting in change to 64-bit integer. To be honest, i don't know what it means but what i am sure of is that more than 2,147,483,647 views is surpassed! Crazy!

Youtube also said that since the counter is reached, there will be a little math magic on the said video. Might as well check this. Ciao!

Hackintosh

Hackintosh, is using the mac OS on a non-Apple hardware. This thing is so popular for several known reasons and below are the best reasons, for me.

1. Future upgrades/repair
2. More bang for your buck

Future upgrades and repair. We all know that Apple products make their products with no "upgradability" in mind. Also, repairing Apple hardware also requires different set of tools that makes it  unpopular to DIY guys. That being said, building your own machine better choice.



Compare this. New mac mini for 499 USD. With the same amount, you can build a more powerful hardware. A sample can be seen here.

Mac OS have this clean look that everyone wants to experience but going for Apple products may want to make you think otherwise. If you are this kind of guy, then go for hackintosh. Ciao!

Gift giving

Christmas is mostly about celebration, reunion, and simbang-gabi. But what makes me excited about it is Gift-giving.

When I was still a kid, I am very excited to receive gifts from my parents, relatives and godparents. But as I grew older, i am much more excited to give gifts than to receive. 

Last two years, my sister and I planned to give a grocery basket to our relatives but that time we both had a job. This year is different, we planned again but this time it will be me, my sister and my brother who's working abroad.



Those little gifts is just our act of gratitude for the things and blessings that we received this year. We may not have a perfect life, but I can say that we are still blessed to have enough of everything - clothes, shelter, food, love and family.

Small PCs

Gigabyte Brix, Intel NUC and Zotac Zbox are some of the small form factor PC. When I say small, i mean really small. Just the size of your palm.

This caught my attention when try to find a mac mini alternative. As we all know, the new mac mini are not up-gradable. Too bad! So I am looking for an alternative that can be my HTPC (Home Theater PC).

My HTPC before was the Raspberry Pi. I got the model B for better specifications. To my surprise, it work well despite of its size and specs. I ran it with Raspbmc to be a complete HTPC.

Today, I am thinking of purchasing one of these small PCs. With all of the choices out there, I am more drawn to Zotac but I have no final model yet. What do you think should I get? Ciao!

Avatar - The Last Airbender

Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko (also the cute Appa and Momo). Those are the common character names that every Avatar fan knows. Avatar - The Last Airbender is a television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008.

The story is about a boy named Aang and his journey to be the Avatar. The Avatar keeps the balance on all Nations (Fire, Air, Earth and Water). After 100 years trapped in the ice berg, Aang must stop the Fire Nation's invasion and return the balance in all Nations. The series is divided into 3 seasons, Book One: Water, Book Two: Earth and Book Three: Fire.

The series suited for everyone. It is interesting enough that even adults watch it, ahem. With the success of this show, a sequel was created; The Legend of Korra. I have yet to watch this.

Overall, great series that will expand your imagination and have good lessons. I definitely recommend it. Ciao!

Yuletide Season

Christmas carols, Christmas trees, Ham, and that cold breeze in the air. That's what i think and feel when December is mentioned. Today, is the day, it starts. Yuletide season.

When i was younger, my family and relatives have reunions every Christmas. We celebrate the birth of Christ together. We have mini-games, exchange gifts and other family bonding activities. I really love doing that. 

This year, our family will be bigger as we welcome my new-born child :) I know that this will be the best Yuletide ever! I will pass the "reunion" tradition to my children as family is the greatest thing to have so let's not take it for granted. 

When we were a child, we only think of Christmas as receiving of gifts. We were not that concerned about the other things. But as we grow older, we become aware of things we are not noticing before. We learn to value and appreciate our family. 

So this year, try and appreciate our family. Better, if everyone :) Ciao!
